MedSeaPOD is a citizen science project that invites everyone to help monitor sea temperatures around the island of San Pietro (Sardinia), helping to understand how climate change is affecting the Mediterranean.
"We are plunging into the heart of one of the greatest challenges of our time-climate change. And we are tackling it together."
St. Peter's: a small island with big importance!
In 2024, we began installing monitoring devices around St. Peter’s Island with the help of citizen scientists.
Our goal?
Creating the first ultra-coastal heat map of the Mediterranean Sea.
Why?
To understand how climate change is transforming our seas, we need to observe the changes up close and in real time.
A dive to change the future of our climate!
Your participation is essential! Join us to collect crucial data and raise awareness of this marine challenge. Each contribution deepens our understanding of the future of the Mediterranean and how to protect it.
